Main Content

1. Purpose

Missouri S&T's brand identity ensures that the university presents a consistent, professional, and recognizable image across all platforms and communications. All web properties — including websites, web applications, and web-based services — must adhere to the university's brand standards.

2. Scope

This policy applies to any web property that represents Missouri S&T, regardless of platform. This includes university websites, web applications, digital services, and any other web-based presence associated with the university.

3. Brand Guidelines

The university's brand guidelines cover:

  • Logo usage: Approved logos, placement, sizing, and clear space requirements
  • Color palette: Official university colors and approved usage
  • Typography: Approved fonts and typographic standards
  • Writing style: Tone, voice, and editorial conventions for university communications
  • Photography and imagery: Standards for visual content representing the university

Brand guidelines are maintained by University Marketing and Communications and are the authoritative source for all branding decisions. The complete guidelines are available at brand.mst.edu.

4. Accessibility

In addition to brand standards, all web properties must meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards. Accessibility requirements apply universally and take precedence when a branding choice would create an accessibility barrier — for example, color contrast that meets brand guidelines but fails accessibility thresholds.
